Body Piercing Aftercare

Your piercing should be thoroughly but gently cleaned 2-3 times a day as needed using a Sterile Saline Spray designated for wounds. With the Sterile Saline Spray, spray either side of a cottonswab and gently clean around both entrance and exit of the piercing. If dried matter around the piercing cannot be removed this way, saturate a cotton ball with the Sterile Saline Spray compressing it gently over the piercing for 2-5mins then try the moistened cottonswab again.

As an alternative you can mix 1/8tsp non-iodized sea salt to 8oz distilled water in a single use disposable cup. Heat this mixture just slightly in the microwave to a warm NOT hot temperature. Make a vacuum over the piercing by inverting the cup over the piercing, soaking the piercing for 5mins. Rinse the piercing thoroughly with distilled water after soaking. Pat dry with a clean disposable towel.

Wash your piercing once daily while showering using a pearl size drop of lightly-dyed/lightly-scented germicidal or anti-microbial soap. Making sure to lather your fingertips beforehand and lather around the entrance and exit of the piercing lightly. DO NOT twist, turn or rotate the jewelry while cleaning

While your piercing is healing, it's a good idea to brush your teeth frequently to to reduce bacteria and food particles in your mouth. With a new toothbrush and non-whitening/non-bleaching toothpaste brush around the piercing and jewelry gently to remove and prevent plaque build up. For all oral piercings expect swelling.

Swelling can be reduced with ice or cold fluids. If able you can take an over the counter non-steroidal anti-inflamatory such as ibuprofan or naproxen sodium according to directions
